Manifestos & Mandates: Mizoram Assembly Elections 2023

The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) secured a clear majority, winning 27 seats out of 40 in the Mizoram assembly elections 2023. The incumbent Mizo National Front (MNF) led by former Chief Minister Zoramthanga was defeated, winning only 10 seats. Despite implementing development projects, the MNF government faced criticism for alleged inefficiency and corruption. Disunity and factionalism within the MNF might have affected their campaign organization and voter mobilization.
